How to get more time into your 24/7
Category News
For many of us, time is a limited and invaluable resource. There seems to be a million and one things that we need to get done but we only get 24 hours to do them. When you need more time to keep up with the fast-paced world of 2018, there are a few ways to find it. These six simple tricks will help you get more time out of your 24 hours.
1.
Decide what’s important
Making a to-do list is always a great time saver and ensures you don’t miss anything important, but you need to prioritise what needs to be done. Usually, you’ll find you can cross something off or leave it for another day. By doing this, you won’t waste your time on many small unimportant tasks and rush the big items.
2.
Find where you waste time
While we all like to unwind after a long day watching the latest Netflix series, we may tend to veg a little too long. Try to limit your leisure time to what you need and not to what you wish you had.
3.
Shop online
Grocery shopping can take up a lot of time and we often buy the same things. Take the time to plan meals and make a list, shopping online can also save time.
4.
Utilise your car
We do not mean text and drive but make your calls via Bluetooth hands-free. During this time you can organise doctors’ appointments, schedule play dates, move less important meetings about.
5.
Multitask
This can be easier for some people but there are a few things that can be grouped together. Let kids sit and do homework at the kitchen table while you’re making dinner so you’re available if they need help.
6.
Divide and conquer
Delegate chores and workload where you can, if you have kids or live with a partner or roommates, divide the chores, rooms, or even days on who does what!
While it is important to make time for the things we have to do, it is also important to make time for yourself. Everything in moderation and effective time management will help to reduce stress and manage the day to day tasks better.
