What to Expect When You Install Fibre into Your Home
Category News
The internet is an amazing thing and very quickly, it is becoming an essential part of life. Most of us rely on the internet in our day to day lives: email, work, chatting, research, and even leisure are all available from the world wide web. Installing fibre into your home offers secured and fast connectivity, allowing you to enjoy using the internet the way you would like to, without hassle. If you’re considering having fibre installed in your home, or office, here’s what you need to know about the installation process.
Research:
The first key step in obtaining fibre into the home is finding out if your neighbourhood is zoned for fibre. Areas which have been zoned for fibre have had fibre cables laid and can easily be connected to your home. You will need to decide which package is the right one for you. Some people have higher requirements for internet than others. There is a wide range of internet service providers with a variety of packages to suit your internet needs. Decide what your budget is if you require uncapped or not, and what speed of internet you will likely need.
Apply through the network provider:
Once you have found the internet package to suit you and your family, contact that provider and fill in their application form with any supporting documents they will need. Once this is confirmed, you will need to have the fibre installed in your home. Some networks will contact and order the fibre company to install it for you, or you can contact a fibre company yourself. Once the fibre has been connected to your home, which can take anywhere between a few hours to a few days you will receive an FSAN number for your personal connection.
Getting the router:
Once the fibre is connected to your home and your selected network provider has your fibre FSAN number, you can expect delivery of your router very quickly. Many routers will be pre-configured and it’s important to not play with the settings. Plug your router into the wall and your fibre box, set up a Wi-Fi password and your internet is good to go.
Having a home, or office, connected to a fast and reliable internet connection can make your life far more enjoyable and a little easier. Fibre connections offer some of the fastest and most reliable connectivity and can ever help to increase your property value. Obtaining a fibre connection can be easy and done in a short frame of time, allowing you to surf the net freely within a few days.
